About Philip

Philip Shepherd has been called a Renaissance Man. As a teenager he cycled alone through Europe, the Middle East, Iran and India before going to Japan to study classical Noh theatre there. Since then he has designed and built several houses; co-founded and written for an arts magazine, Onion; co-founded and directed an interdisciplinary theatre company; written two internationally-produced plays and a television documentary; acted in several feature films; and played lead roles in theatre productions in Toronto, New York, Chicago, London and Hong Kong. He also spent five years studying energy healing with Denis Chagnon. Since the publication of his book, he has earned an international reputation as a workshop leader, lecturer and coach. Philip is currently a faculty member of The Institute for Sacred Activism, which is based in Chicago. His book, New Self, New World: Recovering Our Senses in the Twenty-first Century, is available from online bookstores as a real book or an ebook, and we hope it can also be found at your local bookstore.
